On Wednesday, June 10, Alvis proudly celebrated an important milestone for Amethyst, an Alvis Recovery Program—honoring 10 incredible women graduating from the program and stepping into the next chapter of their recovery journeys. Surrounded by staff, family, community partners, and supporters, the ceremony was filled with pride, reflection, and hope for what comes next.

While all 10 women were recognized, seven graduates were able to attend in person to receive their certificates and be celebrated for their hard work and commitment to change.

The ceremony opened with remarks from Denise Robinson, President & CEO of Alvis, followed by special congratulatory remarks from Erika Clark-Jones, CEO of the Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board of Franklin County. Her presence underscored the importance of strong community partnerships in supporting recovery and expanding access to care. In her remarks, she shared powerful words of encouragement, including a quote from Maya Angelou: “You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.” She reminded the graduates of their strength and resilience, saying, “You know how to rise—you’ve risen for yourself, you’ve risen for your kids. When one chapter ends, another one begins.”

A highlight of the morning was hearing each graduate’s story as they were introduced by the counselors who walked alongside them throughout their journey in Amethyst, an Alvis Recovery Program. Each woman was honored individually, received a certificate and flowers, and had the opportunity to share a few words about her experience in the program.

These moments of reflection were powerful—each story a reminder of the resilience, courage, and determination it takes to rebuild a life in recovery. From overcoming trauma to strengthening their roles as mothers, these women have made meaningful, lasting changes for themselves and their families.

Amethyst, an Alvis Recovery Program is unique in its ability to support both women and their children, addressing the full scope of challenges families face while building a strong, supportive community. Through programs like HYPE (Helping Young People Excel), children receive academic support, enrichment, and a safe, caring environment while their mothers focus on recovery. By serving both generations together, the program helps break cycles of trauma and addiction—creating stronger families and brighter futures. Graduation is not just the end of a program—it marks the beginning of a new chapter grounded in stability, connection, and hope.

As the ceremony closed, graduates were reminded that while this milestone represents how far they’ve come, they are never alone on the road ahead. The community within Amethyst, an Alvis Recovery Program will continue to stand beside them as a source of encouragement and support.

We are so proud of this year’s graduates and grateful to everyone who plays a role in making these transformations possible.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Erika Clark-Jones for joining us and sharing her perspective. Her leadership and partnership through the ADAMH Board continue to make a meaningful impact on programs like Amethyst, an Alvis Recovery Program, and the individuals and families we serve.

Congratulations to the Amethyst Class of 2026—you inspire us all.
